The Nigeria Council of Registered Insurance Brokers has donated 1000 pieces of branded facemasks to the Lagos state Traffic Management Authority LASTMA with a spiral applause from Lagos state government.
NCRIB council said it took the action because of the risk LASTMA officials were exposed to in road traffic management.
The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Fredic Oladehinde, who received the mask from the NCRIB team, said the state government appreciates the gesture
“We appreciate the NCRIB for deeming it fit to come our way through the donation of facemasks to LASTMA at this time of pandemic threatening the existence of human race globally, I am assuring you that we will make good use of what you are donating to us today to the benefit if the officials who are daily exposed to the hazard of Covid-19; stressing that “We will not relent in discharging our responsibilities as traffic management authority in Lagos. Ours is to ensure free flow of traffic in the start.”
In her remarks earlier, the president of the council, Mrs Bola Onigbogi who was represented by the deputy president, Mr Rotimi Edu, cheered the pragmatic approach of Governor Babajide Sanwo–Olu in managing the Covid-19.
Mrs Onigbogi urged Nigerians to adhere to all health advisory issued by the NCDC, with regards to social distancing, hand washing and use of face masks.
She noted that we all have a role to play to end the pandemic, adding that deviating would be tantamount to prolonging the pandemic.
NCRIB, she said, has also responded to complement government efforts by distributing food items and face masks to it host community in Yaba, Lagos Mainland, and relief material to the less privileged in Abuja through the Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja.
