The National Insurance Commission, is urging the insurance industry to board the transformation platform from where the market can “deliver only what you can support, and support everything you deliver.”
The NAICOM stance was delivered today by the Commissioner for Insurance, Olusegun Omosehin at the investiture ceremony of the current President, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe, whom he noted, has demonstrated strategic leadership as Chairperson of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Committee on AfCFTA (NII-AfCFTA). “Under her guidance, the Committee has championed industry enlightenment, capacity building, and policy advocacy to ensure Nigerian insurance industry is well-positioned to harness the opportunities of the African Continental Free Trade Area.”
Omosehin emphasised that transformation is a sustainable paradigm shift that would take the industry further and capped it, “Clear promises and prompt service build trust – and trust drives penetration.”
The CFI welcoming the Ekeoma on board said the Commission “remains open to dialogue and committed to harmonising the roles of all industry players” and advised that her tenure be defined by bold decisions, ethical leadership, and transformative impact. He challenged her further, “The future of our industry depends on visionary leaders like you.”
Setting the role for all, he cleared, “In insurance, perception and performance are inseparable. Trust grows when our actions meet stakeholder expectations. Under Mrs. Ezeibe’s leadership, I am confident the NCRIB will champion these imperatives and drive our industry toward greater excellence.”
