The sustained presence of Nigerian insurance brokers delegation and to some extent delegates from other African countries to the annual British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) conference, has paid off and BIBA is set to incorporate issues relating to Africa to the yearly confab to give African delegates all the perspectives.
This assurance was given by the Chief Executive of the Association, Mr. Steve White, when he received the delegation of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers, led by its president, Mr. Rotimi Edu, at the close of the 2022 BIBA Conference held in Manchester, UK.
White stated that delegates from Nigeria and other African countries would still continue to take advantage of the robust exhibitions at the conference, he noted that the organizers may soon yield to the request for inclusion of African issues in the fringe sessions of the global insurance confab.
White promised to sustain the tempo of relationship between BIBA and the NCRIB, particularly in the area of training and human capital development and expressed delight that the Council had over the years made overwhelming representation at the yearly conferences of the Association.
Earlier, the President of the Council, Mr. Rotimi Edu had appealed for inclusion of African issues and this was welcomed by BIBA CEO in his response above. Edu also extolled BIBA for strengthening partnership with the NCRIB which has translated into better professional practice by its members within and outside the insurance industry.
