The leadership of Nigerian Insurers Association NIA and the National Insurance Commission have stepped efforts to strengthen industry-regulator collaboration and advanve the development of the Nigerian insurance market.
This was set rolling following the visit of the NIA tea led by the Chairman, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu to NAICOM where they engaged on key industry fronts and emerging developments within the insurance sector sector. They focused on the implementation of the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025 and the progress on the risk based capital project, both of which are pivotal to enhancing the industry’s resilience, competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
They also exchanged views on strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening market capacity, improving operational penetration, and fostering a more robust risk management culture across the industry.
The meeting agreed that the should be a joint stake indriving reforms, strengthening policyholder confidence, promoting financial stability, and positioning the insurance sector for sustainable growth and increased contribution to national economic development.
