The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has established a committee to address indemnification of accident victims and aviation-related matters.
The inauguration held in Abuja yesterday happened when the DGM, Financial Health & Aviation Insurance, Mrs Dorcas, the Leader of the NCAA Delegation, visited NAICOM headquarters and Dr. Usman Jankara, the Deputy Commissioner Technical representing the Commissioner for Insurance Ayo Omosehin laid out the the terms of reference of the committee that would oversee the collaborative effort.
Jankara emphasised that the primary objective of the joint Technical Committee is to reaffirm the Commission’s long-standing commitment to safeguarding the interests of policyholders. He cleared that in the event of any accident or incident, the Committee ensures that all affected third parties receive fair compensation and are properly indemnified.
The Leader of the NCAA Delegation Mrs Dorcas, said NCAA would redouble their commitment to their responsibilities and pledged to exhaust all efforts in ensuring the successful attainment of the committee’s objectives.
Dr. Jankara emphasised the need for flexibility and automation of processes, expressing confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver due to the caliber of its members.
