THE OMBUDSMAN, JOURNAL OF INSURANCE LAW, has centered its September, 2025 special edition on escalating Perspectives from Critical Stakeholders in 80 page digest of 12 perspectives covering the whole gamut of the new insurance act.
In the editorial extraordinaire by Adegboyega Adepegba, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, he unveiled his conclusions, “NIIRA 2025 emergence has taken the Insurance Industry into a new but dizzying height. Outdated insurance laws have been repealed providing a new legal framework that suits the current dispensation and that can technologically impact and confront the different challenges that the industry faced prior to August, 2025.
“The Act symbolises a new way of doing things, and this must essentially change the thinking in the Nigerian Insurance Industry, which the whole of Africa looks towards for leadership, he declared.
Noting the extent the law spread to connect all stakeholders without dwarfing one for the other, he made this submission, “There is something in the law for every stakeholder in the insurance industry: regulators, small companies, professionals, insureds, investors and other stakeholders.” The list also includes the government which now wears the hope of adequate cover for $1tr economy before or by 2030.
