The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), has put the president powers on Sir Muftau Oyegunle.
Oyegunle pledged to pursue three point agenda that will emphasis digital transformation raising the standard of CIIN education and reorganization of the administration system.
He also said his tenure will flow with the rolling plan that would put the institute at the center.
The Commissioner for Insurance, Mr Sunday Thomas, a virtual attendee pledged to collaborate and improve on education, pointing out that the new NAICOM Academy would complement and not compete with CIIN.
Mr Edwin Igbiti has also, emerged as the new deputy president and deputy chairman of council of the institute.
Sir Oyegunle, was until his emergence after election, the deputy president and vice chairman, governing council. He succeeds Mr Eddie Efekoha, whose tenure ended July 15, 2020,
Oyegunle is an experienced insurance professional. A graduate of the University of Ibadan and Swiss Insurance Training Centre, Switzerland. He has worked in the insurance industry for 29 years traversing all technical and commercial activities of insurance companies.
He has attended several professional courses and conferences worldwide and delivered several professional papers s well.
Sir Oyegunle is also a fellow of the Chartered Insurance institute of Nigeria and retired from Leadway Assurance Company in 2012 as a general manager. He is presently the MD/CEO Lakeg Insurance Consultants, a company he established in 2013.
