Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB) hierarchy lead by the President Bar Rotimi Edu with the surround support of the secretariat of the Council are contacting security operatives and people with special special links to resolve kidnap saga to see what could be done to secure the release of two kidnapped staff of the council unharmed.
The Executive Secretary and chief executive officer, NCRIB, Tope Adaramola, said in an interview with Businesspost online Bar Edu has deployed high level contacts in the area of the crime, the Ogun state special security operatives to resolve the unfortunate incident with no loss of lives. Adaramola said from the secretariat his office is contacting security operatives and liaising to end the kidnap.
Optimistic for that the combined efforts streaming would be positive, he said they are praying all efforts to secure their release would be a success. said that the gunmen who abducted two staff of the Council are asking for N20 million for each of them.
The two staff members along with another victim were taken hostage in the early hours of Sunday, in Isara axis of Lagos-Ibadan expressway end of Ogun State.
The suspected kidnappers, four, were dressed in military camouflage, seized the victims said to be on their way back to Lagos from Ibadan, when the car in which they were travelling broke down at about 6.45a.m.
Adaramola, said the gunmen emerged from the bush and marched them into the bush and made contact with the management withone of the victims phone demanding N20 million each as ransom for the victims to regain freedom. He said immediately the incident was reported the incident at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Isara. He said a similar report was made by the management of the company to Ogun State Police Headquarters.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command has also confirmed the incident.
He said the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State was already tracking the kidnappers and making efforts to rescue the victims unhurt.
