Disengaged workers 10,619 in total from the public and private sectors swooped on their eligible withdrawal of 25 percent Retirement Savings Account (RSA) balances in the first quarter of 2021.
National Pension Commission PenCom in its first quarter 2021 report, said the benefiting contributors were those who are under 50 years and were unable to secure jobs within four months of disengagement. The amount paid was N5.02bn.
PenCom breakdown show that sectorial approvals put the private sector contributors in the lead with 9,218, followed by federal disengaged staff at 1,249 and states, 152; covering the period from January to March 2021.
